I could meet you there, say, 9:00am, local time? Domo arigatoo gozaimasu, also. I have been wanting to pursue greater powers for a long time. Koma --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Akito walks through the sliding glass doors from the Garage. Nina Reynolds gets her response and is only a 1 minute walk from the cafe.. how convient. Nina returns to the Tube Cafe, practially her personal little office for meetings, developing an unplanned relationship with nearly every employee shift of the workers there. She doesn't try getting buddy buddy with them.. but she's come to the understanding that she will leave good tips if they keep their mouth shut about who and what she talks to people about with there. She slips up onto a stool and orders a strawberry milkshake. Proceeding up the clear, plexisteel construction that spans between the two halves of the Gateway Regency is a short, Asian breeder, with bright, auburn hair that trails down to the center of his back. He pauses as he enters the little shoppe, getting his bearings; it's been almost a year since he was here last. He steps over to the counter, looking over Nina as he drums his fingers on its linoleum surface. "Konnichi wa," he states solemnly. Nina Reynolds doesn't know Japannese at all, but everyone knows that. Nina turns with a smile, her recently delivered and paid for (+10 nuyen tip) strawberry milkshake in her grasp and resting on the counter, "Hoi." she returns and then asks with a solumn tone, "I hope you don't mind if I talk.. I'm worried because my mother was in an accident and is now in a ," very obvious with the last word. Frowning in a show of concern, Akito moves to take the seat next to Nina, shaking his head. "Iie, no. I hope it was not due to early-morning on the roads. It would be another thing I would be disappointed about, with this city." He turns to the person behind the counter. "Just a coffee, hai." Nina Reynolds rolls her credstick to the employee and motions for him to take Akito's tab off her stick and then she turns her attention to Akito and lowers her voice, "I'm pleased you could make it." she extends her hand in greeting, concealed beneath the edge of the counter so the employee can't see it as the coffee is set before Akito and the credstick is slotted and then returned and placed before Nina on the counter, "I believe my mother will come out of this okay. She has a strong of friends supporting her." she smiles, "You know.. strength in numbers." Akito hesitates a moment, before taking Nina's hand into his own, and giving it a quick shake. Even after all this time in North America, he's still a bit uncomfortable with the practice of shaking hands. He offers her a slight smile, inclining his head. "Hai, that is good news. Perhaps there is room in this group, for another? I'm quite at various tasks, although mostly in nature." He smiles then, waving towards her credstick as it's placed before her on the counter. "Domo." Nina Reynolds pockets her credstick and waits a moment, using this time to take a sip of her milkshake. The employee moves off to tend to things at the other end of the counter, getting a look from Nina to give her some privacy. Nina speaks quietly to Akito, more openly now with the words, "We have two mages which are certainly in the group right now, and I am aware that three other potentials are Shamans.. you would be the first Physical Adept.. but I have no problem with that as long as you are not put off or have conflicts with the members of the group. Do you have any specific questions of me before we get further into it?" Akito's @desc Before you stands a human male of average (just under 2 meters) height. His long, straight hair falls from a tail tied near the back of his head, colored a deep auburn, and shining faintly. A few strands of rebellious hair frames a thin face, his eyes showing the characteristic folds that mark him as Asian. His eyes are odd, to say the least; they're a bright yellow, like a wolf, and they never rest, constantly moving to take in his surroundings. His skin is a golden tan in color, showing he spends a great deal of time in the outdoors. His lips are thin, as if his spends much time thinking, and he has a hawk-like nose. His body is quite powerful, muscles visible over every inch of his exposed form. At the same time, he isn't a lumbering person; quite the opposite, in fact. His movements are fluid and graceful. Simple attire would best describe this young man's clothing. He wears a loose-fitting dark blue denim vest, showing wear typical of a piece of clothing much worn and loved. Underneath, he has a simple white t-shirt, loose fitting and comfortable. On his lower arms are a pair of densiplast guards, scarred from much use, and grey in color. Held up by a simple leather belt is a pair of dark grey cargo pants, again fitting loosely to his frame, and with many pockets, as well. On his feet are simple tan hiking boots. His eyes scanning near continuously, this guy seems rather restless. He doesn't sit still, continuously adjusting this or fixing that on his clothing, and he cracks his neck on occasion. He rarely smiles, but only because he seems rather serious. If approach, he will offer a polite smile and a respectful nod. You start looking into the astral plane. Akito This young male human shows definite signs of being magically active. From the ebb and flow of the mana about him, it appears his gifts are focused inward, marking him as a physical adept. Primarily, his aura's color matches his eye color, oddly enough. Deep, dark blues, like the unfathomable depths of the ocean, are broken by swirls and eddies of violet. There's no traces of cybernetic or chemical ailments, and he appears to be in good physical and mental health. Judging from his aura, he is an introverted person, keeping mostly to himself. You return your attention to the physical world. -------------------------------------------------------- Steepling his fingers before him, Akito frowns slightly, his eyes unfocusing as he ponders any questions he may have. Looking up, he asks, "If I may ask, how do you, and the others, feel about large megacorps? Do you agree with how they run things, or do you feel that there are problems?" Nina Reynolds keeps her voice down low, "I can not speak for the other members of the group for they have not voiced their beliefs to me on this subject. We are attempting to keep a centralized belief system out of the founding bylaws for at least one of the members is very aggresive in his belief system and I am worried that if we force his stuff down the throats of everyone that wants to join that we will fail before we begin. I can only offer you my personal view on this." she takes a sip and then continues, "Corporations are made of people.. Churches are made of people.. Charities are made of people.. I say this not to clump them all together for each has its distinct and contraditory traits by nature.. but I say this to point out that whenever people are involved in anything at all there will be some level of perversion. Mankind by nature is a distructive creature if left to his own means without rules and laws being made for the good of the whole. I have no large complaint against corporations as if to collect them all together and sweep over them with a large brush and paint them all . But I will consent to you that where mankind reverts to distruction.. he also does such with much vigor when money and power is involved into the equation. And corporations have plenty of that. It is the rare corporation which doesn't have level of corruption in it.. somewhere. But you will get that in any organization I feel." Listening carefully to Nina's response, Akito sips at his coffee, and then sets the mug down, politely inclining his head. "Hai, that I agree. It is that corruption that, like a cancer, should be removed, if not fatal to the organism. But, in most cases, the cancer is at the heart, so to cut it out, would destroy it." He frowns, looking down at his hands a moment. "And I would not put so many people, innocent of the crimes of their employers, in harms way by destroying their livelihood." He looks back up, exhaling. "May I ask who is the one with the aggressive beliefs? I have been in this city for a couple of years; I may know this person." Nina Reynolds leans in for the whisper, "He goes by the name of Worg." "Worg?" Akito whispers back, frowning. His head shakes negatively, as he rubs at his chin. "That is a name unfamiliar to me. He might be new to the city as well." He leans back, and then mutters something under his breath, reaching up to his eye. The yellow lens is removed, revealing a normal, boring chocolate-brown iris beneath the contact. "I hate when they get dirty..." Nina Reynolds smiles as Koma cleans his contact and she takes a sip on her milkshake before speaking quietly with him further, "We have prepared the ground for the foundation of a few stritures.. or rules we would like to implement in the group when it forms up properly.. would you wish to hear of these in some detail now?" "Hai, yes, if you could please?" Akito replies, taking out a small body of cleaning solution from one of the many pockets on his pants. A lint-free rag is used to clean off whatever it was fouling the contact, and then he slips it back over his eye, chuckling. "I know, they are odd. But they make me a little more intimidating, but since it is only dye and contacts, I can remove both quickly, if need be." Nina Reynolds keeps her voice down and conspiritorial sounding for the drama, "Oath is the first.. upon joining a group the oath would encompass an agreement for the desire to seek knowledge, a vow that you will share and accept the assistance of the others in the group in helping you increase in your knowledge and abilities within the arts of your magical gifts. It would also be an oath which would encompass the additional stritures in that you are accepting them by taking the oath. The next would be material link, providing an item or DNA sample which could be used by the group with ritual magic to find you if you were to be abducted or in danger. It is a security issue and an insurence policy. The next is Exclusive Ritual.. all that means is that you will not join another ritual group outside of our group. The next is exclusive membership, this means that while a member of our group you can not join another magical group.. it is to offer incentive to assist and work hard within the group instead of being faint of heart and easily giving up when confronted with your first stumbling block in your search for improvement. Next is secrecy.. once the group is activated we don't want everyone knowing about it on the street. Some of the members of the group have ties to questionable business practices and we feel that keeping the group secret from the public will keep everyone more safe. If one person is in trouble it will not link all the other members into the turmoil as accomplices and associates from general knowledge and rumors. This way.. it would also allow the group to concentrate on the ritual finding of that group member without worrying about assailant coming to take the rest of us. And the last is attendence.. a required group meeting once every three months where we will each discuss our goals, what we've achieved since the last meeting and where we will share the deeper concepts and knowledge of the paths which we walk alone.. and together." "None of those restrictions bother me," Akito states, after a few moments of consideration. "I am a private person by nature, not one given to speak of very much to others. Giving an oath, and some form of material to locate me by ritual means, is also fine. In fact, one of the big reasons I have wanted to join a group, was for the insurance of such a link. Being secret does not bother me overly much, although it might make future recruitment a bit of a challenge." Nina Reynolds nods, "The level of secrecy is the trick... as in all things in life there should be balance. It will be okay to mention the group to someone whom is interested in becoming a member of a magical group.. as long as you come to the group and we approve of the revealing to the said new potential. The importance is not to mention it to anyone openly.. and even if you do.. it should only be to people whom are searching for a magical group.. and whom has been approved to approach openly by the agreement of the group." Slurp! goes Nina's milkshake. Nina Reynolds looks out through the arching plexiglass tube which reaches up from the floor on one side and arches up and over and comes down to the floor on the other side. Nina loves the visibility here, being able to have 'associates' at a distance observing meetings such as these for safeties sake.. and only two exits, controlable exits if the manpower is available in time for these meetings. Akito nods his understanding, as he pauses to take a sip from his cup of coffee. He's been steadily drinking the beverage, and now pushes the empty mug away, signifying to the person behind the counter that he doesn't wish a refill. "Hai, that sounds reasonable. When would I be able to meet the other members? I am most definitely interested, if you would accept me in?" Nina Reynolds nods slowly, "If it would not be too much of an imposition.. might I ask a couple questions of you first?" Akito gestures towards Nina, nodding. "Iie, not at all. Ask away as you will, and I will answer as best as I am able." Nina Reynolds keeps her voice down out of respect and caution and asks, "Are you a wanted fellon? Have you ever killed anyone? If you have, can you explain the circumstances around that situation and how you've dealt with that since it hapened? Do you have a SIN? Do you feel you can offer a unique and valuable aspect by joining the group.. and if so.. can you explain how?" she leans back just a bit then and sips some more on her milkshake, suddenly realize that she's getting flashbacks from her job interview back when she was 18 years old. Akito chuckles faintly. "Iie, I am not wanted. The only jobs I have done, have been against criminal organizations." He smiles a bit, mirthlessly. "It is not like they would report the death of one of the associates, when said associate was guarding a kidnap victim, hai? I was hired to rescue that person." He leans back a little, resting his hands in front of him. "I have a real SIN, along with one procurred by less than legal means, for just that sort of thing." He then pauses, brow furrowing in thought. "As for what I can offer? That is a bit of a tough one, I must admit. I do have some skill in enchanting items for magical use though, as well as the ability to make swords." Nina Reynolds listens closely, her face good at being a listener as she takes in each word, nodding slowly as she learns of Akito a bit more, "I think you will make a very good addition to the group. I will contact the other members and arrange a meeting as soon as possible. Do you know where Belle Isle Park is?" Akito chuckles, as some memory plays out in his mind. "Hai, I do. I have had some rather interesting discussions in that park. It is just down the street a bit from my current home." Nina Reynolds takes a sip of her milkshake and then places the empty item on the counter, motioning to the employee that she does not want a refill (of course, she would bust. hee) and she still wants some privacy. She turns her attention back to Akito as he speaks and then she responds to him, "When I next contact you.. Meet location A will be Belle Isle Park." she pauses and considers, "Are you familiar with Vasily's Army surplus?" "Iie, no, I am not," Akito replies, with a negatory shake of his head. "Would it be in the phone directory? I could find it that way, though," he continues, brushing back an errant strand of dark-red hair from his eyes. Nina Reynolds nods, "Yes.. it will be. Once you find it.. there is an alley on the west side of the street near it.. take that alley west until it opens up into an old abandoned parking lot. The parking lot is just north of the Noir Days if you want to take the alley from that direction as well. This will be location B. This places is location C. I remember this list like this: wonderful place, careful, cafe." she grins and then offers, "Locations will likely grow as we need new locations or there are different needs. We do not have a centralized building or household yet, which is something I hope we can obtain soon.. for things like summoning circles and the like." She grins, "And for training and gathering." she looks to Akito with a smile, "I have your email address and phone number already.. you have my email address.. the current one anyway. My phone number is.. 2600-70897." Akito slips a slim, silver cellphone from an inner pocket of his vest, and taps a few keys. Nina's number is entered, under the title 'Vinnie's Pizza'. Chuckling at his choice, he states, "I will give you my cell number, since the number you have is a voicemail. Cell nine oh eight one four." (OOC: 2600-90814) Nina Reynolds puts the number to memory and decides to plug the number into her phone when she gets back to her apartment, "Good.. very good." she slips off the stool to stand, "I will be contacting you soon.. thank you for coming to meet me." "Domo arigatoo," Akito states, bowing a bit formally to Nina. "I look forward to speaking with you soon, as well as meeting the other members." Nina Reynolds bows just slightly and then thurns and walks off into the gateway regency and disappears down the hallway.
