--------- Nina Reynolds PrP --------- Nina's Plot Log has now started. This PrP Involves: Nina, Jenn ------------------------------------------- <> Tony Fales, Nina's level 2 Fence contact and the person she's used to bringing illigal aquired items to has contacted her with a favor he needs. <> Tony Fales explains the following to Nina-> An associate by the name of Gilbert Donaldson has filtched on a debt for some goods he promised to pay for. Mr. Donaldson lives in a luxury apartment building and the security is just too high and visible to try to reaquire the assets there so Tony requests that Nina try and get the goods back away from that location. Mr. Donaldson is a nighshift manager at an electronics design company named "Pheson Inc." and the goods are belived to be in the trunk of his Audi in a briefcase. <> Tony informs Nina that a rigger will be accompanying her. He knows she's not used to working with other people on her B&E jobs, but this is the favor part of the job. He has arranged for a meeting between this rigger woman and Nina, the rigger is to provide initial aerial recon of Pheson Inc and then cautionary overview while Nina slips in for the snatch in the parking lot of the company. The rigger is also there to provide escape transportation should things go badly.... <> Tony fails to tell Nina that a fixer Tony associates with has called in a favor owed and has requested that he work Jenn into a job. A proven rude bitch that has a knack of screwing up the jobs she goes on.. he wants to give her one last chance before cutting her from his list of associates completely... all this Tony is vow'd to secrecy and not telling Nina.. Tony's favor to the Fixer... <> Jenn gets a datachip dropped off at one of the usually drop locations she's supposed to check now and again for work from one of the fixers she's screwed in the past from doing shitty work.. and as luck woulld have it.. she must not have pissed him off too much.. cuz he's offering a bit of work it seems.. or at least he's left a datachip under the coffee can in the alley behind the dumpster where they agreed he'd leave word if he needed her. <> On Jenn's Datachip-> Job: Aerial recon of electronics design company, overwatch while invisible stealth mage sneaks into parking lot to steal item from trunk of audi, provide escape transportation if needed. Payment: 15,000 nuyen, collected from mage after job after mage is paid by her contact. Meet Location: Cyber-Bob's matrix-cafe, 11:00 pm tonight. Contact: Human female, will be sitting looking at pocsec with blank blue screen. ------------------------------------- Nina Reynolds logs off the matrix connection from the public phone on the street and then turns as she opens the door and pulls her chewing gum off the vid-camera of the phonebooth with her back now to it and then heads out away from that site while thinking over her matrix meeting with Tony Fales, considering her options and how strange it will be to work with someone. o 0 (I'm going to need my commlink then.. I'd best head back and get my equipment). Jenn takes the chip from the reader and hmms silently to herself. Placing the equipment into her trenchcoat, she then heads back to her home (her van.). Pondering to herself, she then looks around. "Recon..." She says aloud inside. The van itself is somewhat armored as well as full of junk including drones. Pondering she looks down at her new Strato, replacing the last one. Nodding she thinks a moment before starting to drive off towards Cal's Garage. Nina Reynolds heads back to the gateway and to her apartment and gathers up some things (Form fitting armor, trenchcoat, medkit, electronics kit, narcoject pistol, stun glove, and various other gear) and packs up the dufflebag nice and neat. She takes her time because she has a couple hours before the meeting and she doesn't want to overlook anything. After packed.. she moves out into her living room and brings up the trid news log interface and does a matrix search on Jenn opens the garage door with the maglock key and then locks it once inside. Hmming she takes out a few unfinished drones, placing them into the back of the garage. In the back room, her backpack is layed out and open. On the table it's on is a pair of Smartlinks waiting to be installed onto drones as well as the smell of greese. hmming she grumbles, not bothering to change. Hmming she then slides the drones that she's still working on to the corner, picking up Momma and Baby, her two weapons. One an Ares Pred II and the other a Remington 990. <> Nina's Research-> Pheson Inc. is a subsidiary Fuchi company specializing in designing of electronics in the field of Medical equipement (lifesupport, dialasis, etc). The company has many articles about donations and charity events sponsored by them for many organizations in the Detroit area. The public view of the company is a model of kindness and charity. Jenn hmms and ponders a moment. She takes out a small shitty RC Encryption Module, (Rating 2 I think.) And stuffs it into her RCD. Pondering she then takes out a small chip, plugging that into the deck as well. (Sharpshooter autosoft). She also grumbles. "Fucker, cant kill." Hmming she starts to throw boxes of things around, looking for where she left that dusty torn box of Gel rounds. Nina Reynolds considers further research on the matrix by leaving her place and searching places like backlogs of info on shadowland, but she doesn't have the time for that and she decides to spend the remaining time stretching and then concentrating and meditating of sorts to focus on the tasks before her. Each fetish, foci, confirmed in location and status and then she takes some time to make some quick meal in her kitchen. Jenn hmms and finally kicks over a box, making her toe bruised a moment. "FUCK!" She screams as she finally kneels down, dusting it off. "GEL" It says in big red words. Nodding to herself she drags the box out and into the main room. She also looks on the table and grabs some dataline taps for emergency. Hmming she then looks over shelves, checking contense to see what else she's missing. 45 minutes before the meet, Nina shoulders her duffel and pulls her trenchcoat closer around her, for she knows its surely raining outside.. it's been rainging for over two weeks straight, twenty four hours a day.. no reason to think its doing otherwise now. She check the messages on the phone in the living room and then takes a deep breath, closes her eyes and scans her apartment from where she stands astrally as she opens them and then blinks back to the mundane world, satisfied she doens't have any astral followers on her tail right now. Nina opens her apartment door and then heads out into the hallway and on her way to the meet. Nina Reynolds makes her way out onto the cub, leaving her umbrella in the apartment tonight she's a target for the thunderstorm and is soon getting quite wet. Her trenchcoat sheds most of the rain though, but she knows its just a matter of time before she's soaked to the bone.. its uncomfortable, no matter how 'in tune' she feels she is with being a water elementalist she's not some cult nut that thinks being soaked is part of her 'tradition'. Jenn hmms and thinks, looiking over her items and nods, grabbing her armor coat and always wearing her form fitting. Yeah she's a little stinky. Grabbing the keys for her GMC bulldog Step Van, she then rigs into it while laying back eyes closed and relaxing. THe inside is much like a mobile home. Four pulldown beds, a small kitchen in back. Seems she lives in the vehicle. Off she goes now, towards the meeting point Nina Reynolds takes a bus to a location near the meet and then grabs a taxi and takes it across to the other side of town and then hops on a subway, chances trains three times and comes up near where she got off the bus and then she walks the rest of the way to the matrix-cafe where the meet is supposed to be. Nina arrives about 10 minutes before she's told to be there by Tony Fales and she enters the geek-infested matrix nerd hangout, boasting drinks like and food like .. she grins at the humor of the place and finds a table semi-private and lacking of any other occupants and slips down onto a chair, her duffle slid under the table in front of her. Nina pulls out her pocsec and opens the screen and then brings up a simple blank cyan screen, a signal she frequently uses to meet people in public places. Nina then takes her time, orders a drink from a passing waitress and gets comfortable... she's still a bit early. Jenn pulls into the Parkinglot of the Tix cafe. Hmming she then runs a hand through her hair, taking off her trench and putting on a holder. Once done, she takes her shotgun and slings it around her back and puts her trench on. Luckly the clothing is very baggy so it's hard to be seen. Hmming she then ponders and yawns, grabbing a beer from the fridge and downing it in her single gulp piggy style that she's accustomed too. God knows she dosen't drink milk or like computer geeks. It's going to be a very interesting meet. Hmming she yawns, laying back in the lot a bit longer, scratching her leg before she leaves the comforts of her van and heads inside. Once inside, she looks around, scanning the people. Looking like she crawled up from under a rock, everyone seems to just stare at her. Nina Reynolds started watching people come and go, wondering who her contact is supposed to be. But after a couple minutes Nina has given up on the task, picking out a rigger astrally looking for dark spots in the head gets to be a bit redundent and pointless when so many decker and datajack implant wanna-bees also are infected with the cyberware in their heads. o 0 (Probably why this place was selected.. the rigger wouldn't stick out astrally.. smart). and she waits, leaning back, her glass of milk soon emptied as she glances on occasion at the pocsec on the table before her. Jenn lets out her standard belch, forgetting she's no longer in the blight. Hmming she scans the crowd quickly before slowly moving down the main eisle. She basically glances at trid screens. hmming she narrows it down to two people with blue screens, however of diffrent shades. One person is you, the other is a pimpled face red head who surprisingly looks like the kid from the cover of Mad Magazine. Hmming she then pulls out a small trid marked 'A-Team' and flips it slightly in the air. It lands on her hand, the lable face down and she walks slowly to you, standing a moment, checking out the cyan screen. The presense of the woman near her left shoulder alerts Nina to the possible contact, maybe its her sensativity to the lifeforces around her in the world, the flow of essence as it might be. Or perhaps a shift in lighting of a small shadow from a light behind Jenn across the table.. whatever it is.. Nina looks back over her left shoulder as she shifts slightly and turns. A smile comes to her face, a polite smile, as someone not sure whom they are addressing but not wanting to assume and yet not offend, "Good evening." she offers, noncommitaly. Jenn nods and gives a slight smile back, trying to smile as she looks over her shoulder. "heya. Um, buy you a drink?" Well either Nina will think she's coming onto her or maybe it's the contact. Hmming she smiles to Nina. "Nice screen you got there. Blue is my favorite color you know." Nina may notice that she slightly slaps herself on her leg after the stupid comment. Nina Reynolds shakes her head at the offer of the drink to decline it, but then the comment of the screen is made and she figures she'd best try and determine if this is her contact or not before she commits to possibly scaring off the true contact if she's stuck talking with someone, "Cyan is a pretty color, I'm told there is a shade of blue that only drones can appreciate though.. a spectrum in the radar bandwidth.. have you heard of that too?" completely making up some stupid topic to test the waters. Jenn hmms a moment and nods. "It's true I think. Something about the way blue holds on scanners or some such thing. Perhaps we can sit and talk about it?" Hmming she thinks a moment. .o0(You have fucking GOT to be kidding me that this is the dam contact)0o. You can see her shake her hair a moment, her head going side to side before looking bakc at you. "Sorry, got an itch. So yeah, drones and blue. it's like apples and oranges." Nina Reynolds doesn't offer the other chair at the table yet, instead she takes her pocsec and closes it and slips it away as she inquires, "I'm supposed to be meeting someone here.. an associate that wants a job interview for Pheson Incorporated.. might you be that person?" She then casts a glance to an annoying nerd laugh and looks as displeased with the setting a Jenn and ready to leave if given the opportunity. Jenn nods and hmms. "Indeed I am. I heard the job gives out cars if your one of their special workers?" She shrugs and hmms. "Well that or a nice pay check. It's cool to meetya miss, uh?...." SHe glances at the laugh and the person starts to quiet once looking at the blight person and her rather unfriendly glance. Nina Reynolds stands after she reaches under the table and pulls her duffle out and then up over her shoulder, "If it's okay with you.. I'd like to leave this place as nothing more than a bad memory? If you have wheels.. can we head outside to chat about things?" Jenn nods and hmms. "Works for me. The pimpled face (Mad Magazine) kid is kind of giving me the creeps. I swear i've seen that face before." She offers you a hand, trying to be charming, though it could be taken another way as the nerdy kids let their jaws hang low. "I'll show you which is my ride once we're outside." Nina Reynolds doesn't accept the hand, but offers a friendly smile as she takes the appropriate hand and uses it to hunch up the duffle on her shoulder a touch more, "Lead the way.. I'll follow." Jenn nods and heads for the door rather quickly, the sound of her boots stomping against the floor can be heard. As Nina and Jenn leave, the nerds of the place simple stare. Then once their gone, one nerd asks the another nerd "Think they were lesbians?" Nina Reynolds follows Jenn outside, leaning slightly forward to help keep the rain from going down her neck as she follows Jenn towards her vehicle. Pleased that the trix-cafe is in a nice part of town, Nina doesn't feel so nervous about going off like this with someone she hardly knows.. but then.. Tony Fales wouldn't set her up on a job with some loser.. would he? She moves a half step behind Jenn so she can adjust for changes in directions and to the womans left side as she talks when witnesses aren't too close to overhear, "I'm not used to working with other people on jobs.. don't assume I'm familiar with things like that. I want to be honest and upfront.. rather to deal with it now than in a tight situation and finding out the hard way." she offers a grin to Jenn then. Jenn shrugs and nods. "Whatever fucking works for you. So, what's your name anyways?" She heads to the lot where a black Stepvan is seen. The colors are Black on the bottom, a red stripe midway and a grey top. It screms of the 80's with it's red mag wheels. "Meet the A-Team Van." She tell Nina that and hmms. "Ever heard of the A-Team? Increadable documentry. Think it was under entertainment or something." Shrugging she then unlocks the vehicle and opens the passenger door from the inside. "Get in." Nina Reynolds moves along with Jenn, shaking her head when asked if she's ever heard of the A-team in the negative/no fashion and doens't respond, thinking it was probably a retorical question. Nina waits out in the rain until the door is opened for her form the inside by Jenn and then she hops in, not because she's ordered to, but because its raining outside and she's not about to turn down a nice dry place out of the rain right now. She puts the duffle on the floor in front of her legs and then closes the door, "Name's Mist.. how about yourself?" Jenn nods and hmms. "Nice ta meetcha Mist, i'm Pottymouth. Cause I have a fuckin tendency to swear alot ya know? Fridge is in the back, grab yourself a fuckin beer if ya want." Hmming she then looks about "So what's the deal with tonight? Oh and the A-Team is what I believe to be the first shadowrun team known to man. They were a bunch of people from Vietnam who were fucked ever to cover the bastard generals fuckup. So they went around doing runs and shit." Nodding she smirks. "BA's my hero." Nina Reynolds shakes her head in the negative at the offer of the beer and suppresses the question to ask why Jenn's vocabulary is so limited but decides to stick to biz cuz asking about the cursing would probably only make the woman think she was being insulted as a nit-wit incapable of educated speach.. and she's not in the mood for an arguement.. so she sticks to biz, "I need you to do an aerial drone recon over Pheson Incorporated's property so we can get a good scoop on their security systems.. terrain, barriers, personel and technology if possible. I need to get into the grounds, to their outside parking lot to a green audi, plate number 896RY3 and break into the trunk and retrieve a briefcase. I will be able to turn myself invisible at that time to mask my presense but would still like overwatch if you can do that so I am made aware of any unsuspected changes or approaching threats. I have brought along a commlink I can share frequencies with you so that you can talk with me. I will be using a subdermal mic so my voice may sound strange.. but that's the only way you can hear me if I am forced to use a silence spell, the vibrations in my throat can still be transmitted that way. After I retrieve the briefcase we need to proceed to the docks for delivery and payment. Is this acceptable to you for an equal cut in the payoff? 15K for you.. 15K for me?" Jenn hmms and nods. "Payment fuckin works. That's no problem." Hmming she then stops a moment and opens a gun cabinet. Inside is a plethua of guns, some shotguns, some SMGs some automatic pistols. Rummaging through, throwing them onto the floor she then looks up and hands you a kit of sorts. "Electronics kit. Never know when you'll need the little bastard. Also got some Uv Goggles or some shit if ya need em." Hmming she nods. "Green audi You say Mist? Any form of ani-theft on it?" Nina Reynolds catches the electronics kit, holding onto it for a bit as she talks in response, "I think probably yes, though I don't have the details. The owners name is Gilbert Donaldson and he lives in a luxury type apartment building. I imagine the security system is rather good on it." she places the electrconics kit carefully down on the floor of the van as if respecting the equipment within, "I've brought along my own electronics tools.. and I'd prefer to keep light weight and use astral vision instead of the goggles if you don't mind... I'm not familiar with goggles and fear the lack of peripherial vision would be distracting to me tonight." Jenn laughs and nods. "Whatever works for ya Mist. Fuck, after all your my meal ticket." With a hmm, she then thinks a moment, getting up and heading for the back of the van where her fridge is. "Sure you don't wan a beer?" She grabs one for herself, looking over to see what it is your doing. After a moment she shrugs. "Well, if i'm to launch, i'll just use my Strato, the others will be too close for range. This one is good, but I'de say get me around ten miles away from the place and then we'll go in from there. Sound good?" Nina Reynolds nods to Jenn, "Sounds perfect.. can you record what your drone sees so we can go over that data on a screen after you do the recon?.. and pick out and highlight security items of interest that we should be careful of?" she pulls out her own datachip and offers it to Jenn, "Here ya Pottymouth.. it's a pick of the guy that owns the car, a pick of the car and license plate number.. and an address of Pheson Inc.. it's a couple blocks back from the river on Johnston drive." Jenn nods and hmms, checking over the trid after she places it into a holoprojector. "Ok, right there. That's the weakpoint." She points to the door, and then flips the view so it's under it. "See that? Looks like a good place to work your whatever the fuck it is your going to be doing." Hmming she then rotates it again. "Duel muffler, obviously turbo. Ride likes this has to be alarmed." She takes the chip back out and ponders a moment and nods. As to the pick of the guy. "Thanks..." She dosen't look at it. "I've got all my shit, you got yours?" Nina Reynolds nods to Jenn as she has yet to move from her seat in the passengers seat, "Ready." she reaches for her safety belt and starts to hook it up, resisting the urge to enter any sort of personal banter with this woman, thinking it best to keep it strictly business and and professional so the job can be concentrated on and this... unfortunate encounter can be wrapped up as quickly as possible. Jenn nods and presses a panel on the dashboard that rolls down. There is a slick silver looking hole with big bold silver words written under it "Insert here." Taking a wire from her pocket, she lifts the hair covering her right right ear and reveals a datajack. Taking the wire, she places it into her jack and then her hole and hmms. "Want me to drive casually? Getting pulled over wouldn't be good." Plugging into the rigged vehicle she smirks "Just jokin..." And then drives off a moment and then stops. "Got a location of where this shithole is?" Nina Reynolds nods to noone in particular as she relaxes in the passengers seat and watches the rain hitting the street outside, the window, the sidewalk, just a dilluge of constant rain with no end in sight, "You bet.. it was on that datachip I handed you." <> Address on Datachip-> 3397 Johnston Drive, Detroit. Jenn nods and hmms, poping it quickly into a projector. With a nod she closes her eyes and away Nina and Jenn go. Stopping after about fifteen minutes she pulls into an alley. "Ok, this would be a good place to unload the drone." Nina Reynolds sits up a bit more straight as they enter the alley, looking around as the headlights cut into the darkness of the night around them. The rain pounding on the roof of the van, the darkness of a moon hidden from view by the thick black clouds and the inscecent rain on the windshield makes Nina feel a bit claustophobic as she responds, "Copy that.. sounds good. We're what?.. three four blocks away from the loation right?" Jenn shakes her head. "About three or four miles away from the location. Any closer and the drone would be spotted immediatly. Better to just creep in then drop a bomb." She unplugs herself and pops open the back of the van, then returns to pushing her drone out the door. Nina Reynolds takes the moment to look around the front of the van and the area behind Jenn, trying to get a feel for this person by the way she keeps what appears to be her living quarters and the things she leaves laying about. Nina isn't snooping around and touching anything, but desparately hoping that some redeaming quality might be gleaned for this person selfproclaimed as 'Pottymouth', "Ah," she explains, "The rain and being so dark I got turned around, wasn't quiet sure exactly where I was." Jenn finishes with the rotodrone, dumping it like a trashcan outside the van. Hmming she then hops back in from the back, where she then shuts the van. Thinking she nods, hmming, throwing around clothing and electronics equipment, looking silently for something. "FUCK! Where the hell is it." Sighing she then shakes her head and kicks the fridge, nudging it open. Inside is what looks to be a small metal spider. Frowning she mutters. "Must have been drunk." Shaking her head once more, she carefully takes the metal spider and nods. "Hold this for me while we drive in a bit closer. Once we're ready I'll launch the roto and then the spider." While her back is turned Nina shifts her vision into the astral to examine Jenn more closely. She watches Jenn take the Strato-9 outside in the pouring rain and leave it in the dark alley and when she turns to come back inside she turns around in her seat and then brings her vision back to the mundane world and waits. While Jenn rumages around in the van Nina looks around also, out of habbit of a will to want to assist but not daring to ask for it might send the woman off into a tirade of profanities she remains silent and just waits. A smile comes to her lips as the Renraku Mini-Arachnoid drone is brought out of the fridge and then is handed to her and she aceepts the small hand sized eight legged drone and places it on her lap for holding, "Okay.. that sounds like a good idea. People won't mess with your roto if you leave it in the alley will they?" You start looking into the astral plane. Jenn This mundane seems to be a rather healthy if not a bit under stress. She's early to mid twenties, female and an elf. Her attitude shows brightly in the astral plane. Her aura itself is quite dim as she obviously has extensive cybernetic enhancements. The nature of which cannot be clear as with just one exception of a small black spot on the side of her skull the dim areas are not concentrated in any one spot. You return your attention to the physical world. Jenn shakes her head and hmms. "Well What I think I might do is rig into the car, hurry like a bitch and go simsence into the drone. Once inside, if someones touching it, the Medium machine gun would be more then enough to take their hands off their body." Shrugging she ponders a moment and then grins. "I don't fuckin think anyone would be stupid enough to fuck with that kind of hardware, though I have been wrong before." Hmming she hops back into the drivers seat where she plugs back into the van and her head. "Shall we?" Nina Reynolds nods over to Jenn, curious how she never noticed a big old medium machine gun on the rotodrone before. Nina leans forward and looks through the side mirror on her door to look at the drone where it sits in the alley and a smile comes to her face. o 0 (Ah.. there a big old machine gun mounted on that drone.. neat). Nina turns in her seat with the small spider drone still in her lap and asks, "That's got non-leathal ammo in it.. right?" Jenn nods and hmms. "Yes, I did remember changing ammo for my drones, it should be non-leathal, but even still, that would hurt." She seems to glow and grin at the hurt aspect of the weapon. The drone being something that could give Nina the feeling that Jenn likes to cause pain on others and most likely end their lifes. "Yes, quiet painful." Nodding happily she then closes her eyes and the engine roars to life. Driving slowly out from the alley, she then continues towards the target, hmming to herself. "if shit hits the fan, get out of there and if need be i'll start shooting ok?" Nina Reynolds takes glances between Jenn and the road outside the front window and then glancing to the mirror on her side door back the way they came. She looks to Jenn, fascinated by how riggers can be in so many places at the same time and looks closely to Jenn to see if her eyes are open or if she's alert and running her vehicle/drone in captain chair mode. Nina is well versed in a mulitude of items from her profession and she lacks the distrust and fear normal mages feel towards riggers and others equipped with different 'abilities'. As Jenn speaks Nina nods and considers routes of escape, "Good idea.. if you can get some good exit routes with your aerial drone while its airborne that would be great.. two or three possible streets or alleys that would be good for me to head for if things go bad, I'd appreciate it. If we botch it.. do you want to meet up again somewhere? Or do you just want a quiet fade and me not to contact you again?" Jenn hmms as she keeps her eyes closed. The van leaves the alley, running rather silently. "Whichever works for you. One thing this can do is stay underwater for about thirty hours. If shit really hits the fan hard we can park in a lake and let things cool down." Shrugging she hmms. "And it's a great conversational piece." She thinks a moment pondering "Good idea, i'll check things out in air, give you the fuckin lo'down on routes among other things. You have a commlink right?" Hmming she ponders, "We can meet, perhaps pick a point once we get into position." Nina Reynolds listens carefully to the details, a smile coming to her face as she is intrigued with the riggers toys, "My commlink frequency is 549.23 with an encryption alogrythem of Beta Zed 98.7 and a modulation flux of 4. (Rating 4)." she gives it some thought as she pulls out her commlink and starts to clip it on, and starts to put on the subdermal mic that rests against the side of her throat, "You know.. I heard about this van a bit over a year ago that was down on the riverfront involved in some nasty bit of exchange with some rockets.. it got away though before the police could show up because it drove into the river and submereged." she chuckles, "Not that I condone firing rockets in populated areas.. but it sounded amazing and quick thinking to have a vehicle that could do that.. was that you?" Jenn hmms and nods, speaking aloud. "549.23 alogrythem of Beta Zed 98.7 Ok got it." Thinking a moment she ponders, scratching her head slightly. "Ok settings set into my commlink." Funny how Jenn dosen't have any sort of commlink visiable to her. Hmming she then thinks, wondering about the van. "Well to tell the truth I fuckin cant remember. I know i've done things quite simular like that. Fuckin pigs Nevah got a hold on me. But then again, could have been someone else. Just know that when shit hits the fans, i've done things close to that if not exactly so it could very well have been me. Who knows." Shrugging she smirks a bit and hmms. "That means I've got a dam rep now or someshit? Fuck i'm famus" She grins while driving. Nina Reynolds adjusts the small spider drone in her lap as the drive along in the late night traffic in the van and listens to Jenn's response, a smile on her face as she listens to Jenn explain a bit about her past. After a moment or few more driving Nina inquires, "How do you navigate underwater? Do propellers come out on the back and sides? Or does it open small ports and use a turbine water thruster type thing like jetski's do? Can it handle the currents of the river?" Jenn laughs and hmms to herself. "Such a curious mage. Very odd that your not put off by my dark technoligies." Shrugging a bit, she smiles with her eyes shut. "I cant give away all my secrets now can I? I mean if I do that, what's left to fuckin talk about? If you must know, it's more of a prop jobbie with some flotation aparatisus, but that's not important. The fact that this vehicle is sealed from water is a bit more impressive." Shrugging she ponders, opening her eyes a second then squinting. "Shitty weather out." Hmming she closes them once again, "Were a few blocks away now. I shouldn't drive in close, could be sited." Nina Reynolds nods to Jenn and smiles when she opens her eyes and looks over and then look back out to the street ahead as they're driving along, "Probably a good idea... how far on a charge and how long will it take for this spider drone to get there and do the ground recon and get back?" Nina Reynolds says, "Are you jacked into the roto right now?" Jenn says, "Not sure if you can be rigged and jacked into drones at once." Nina Reynolds says, "You can be controlling the drone in Captain Chair mode right now if you want.. using its sensor rating to perceive things around it and Pilot rating to fly and do the things you can command it to do." Jenn says, "Ok i'de be doing that then." <> Jenn, please roll 5 dice. Jenn rolls 5 dice: 1 1 5 5 5 <> The Strato-9's sensors alert Jenn to a thermographic, radar and lowlight object spotted on its sensors. The object appears to be a cat and it is nearing the rotodrone from behind a cardboard box where it was seeking protection from the rain. -------------Retcon this next pose--------------- Jenn dosen't want the rotodrone to be pissed on, hence she decides to launch it into the air, jumping into its pilot seat and gaining control. She motions the drone about twenty thousand feet up into the air, setting it to hover. Silently she jumps back into the vehicle, keeping a check on the drones sensors. "Dam cats." She mutters, watching a bit longer. "Ok, I want you to slip that spider drone out into the street. It's going to be a while till it gets there and it shouldn't be detected. Figure an extra eye would always be helpful." Nina Reynolds says, "What is the pilot rating in the van?" Jenn says, "No pilot rating." Nina Reynolds says, "If you jack into the roto directly the van will crash." Jenn says, "Ok forget that idea ;)" <> Retcon Jenn's last pose. Jenn dosen't want the rotodrone to be pissed on. She looks around the street, checking for any side streets. Finding a small building, she pulls into the parking lot, taking up a space and pulls over. "Pardon me a second. I need to pull over to launch my drone, that ok?" Nina Reynolds nods to Jenn, "Abosultely", sitting up more straight and looking uncomfortable, afraid something might be going wrong, but simple amazed Jenn said something without the word Fuck in it. Jenn nods to the responce and smirks. "Thanks." Taking a moment, she then launches the drone into the air, jumping into its pilot seat and gaining control. She motions the drone about twenty thousand feet up into the air, setting it to hover. Silently she jumps back into the vehicle, keeping a check on the drones sensors. "Dam cats." She mutters, watching a bit longer. With a sigh she thinks a moment, "Ok few more blocks and we're bringing the spider out. It's slow so it's going to take a while for things to work." Setting the drone to Autopilot (rating is 2) she lets it hover. "Ok lets continue." Nina Reynolds rolls 5 dice against a TN 4: 3 3 3 4 23 (2 successes) <> At 3,000 feet elevation Jenn receives the distinctive and the "feel" of radar against its sensors skin. It's coming from a direction of the Detroit Airport, probably painting its signiture on a radar screen in an airport control tower. <> The Strato-9 is at 2040 feet and climbing currently, Jenn's last pose about putting the spider out can be postponed until 20K feet is reached or said now ICly if Jenn wants such. Jenn sighs and pulls over to the side of the road, grumbling. "Pardon me a moment." She places the car into park, leaving the engine running. "Sorry this is fuckin takin so long. Some shit for brains is using sensors on my drone." Grumbling, she then sighs, jumping into the saddle of her Strato-9. Taking control she lowers the drone somewhat rappidly down into the cityscape, trying to hover it close to a building to break up the signal. Nina Reynolds says, "Note: When your jacked into a drone and/or vehicle.. you can't wink, smile or talk. If you want to communicate it needs to be through a drone speaker, vehicle speaker, commlink or something.. your body is completely limp and useless and lacking any use at all while your directly jacked into anything. In captain chair mode you can move and talk .. but you can't jack your van in captain chair mode because it has no pilot rating. I.E. if rigging your van.. your unconcious." Jenn ahhhs and oks. Jenn sighs and pulls over to the side of the road, grumbling. "Pardon me a moment." She places the car into park, leaving the engine running. Her body goes limp, jumping into the saddle of her Strato-9. Taking control she lowers the drone somewhat rappidly down into the cityscape, trying to hover it close to a building to break up the signal hoping all the while her limp body dosen't scare Nina the mage besides her. Nina Reynolds looks a bit more nervous as the van stops once more and Jenn then speaks and goes limp. o 0 (Oh dear.. can't be good). <> Once below 1700 feet the radar blip from the Detroit airport fades to nothing. It is the best estimate that the last known location of the drone has faded from the radar scope at the airport. Unknown response from the airport at this time. Jenn manuvers the drone a few blocks away from its last point, slowly driving it through the streets. Sighing at the area she decides that this area is safe enough for now. Hmming she parks the drone on auto, letting it hover for the time being and returns to the van. Eyes opening she sighs. "Sorry about that, radar pings. I think it was from the airport." Nina Reynolds nervously nibbles on her lip as Jenn comes back to conciousness and then listens and nods, "Okay." she doesn't speak much on the topic, figuring the rigger knows what she's doing. She glances out the window, "How many blocks we away still? How close should we get before I put the spider outside?" Nina Reynolds rolls 4 dice against a TN 9: 1 1 2 8 (0 successes) <> The Knight Errant patrol car in the street below does not notice the Strato-9 right now (Sig 4 + visual mods total of 9). Jenn says, "Ok, asking because on page 232 SR3 it's a +6 for rain +2 for partial covering, makes it a +8, and call hovering what you will. That's for perception tests." Nina Reynolds says, "Okay.. sounds good. " ----OOC conversation with Castor---- Announcement: Castor shouts "Karma has been awarded to people who are IC and not in their apartments. Thank you." You paged Castor with 'WooHoo.'. You paged Castor with 'doh.. what about us running a plot? :-)'. Castor pages: You're already getting karma from your plots. ;) Nina Reynolds says, "That sucks.. Castor gives out karma for being on the grid.. I didn't get any.. asked.. he said I already get karma for being in a plot. That's lame. So I get karma idling in a bar? But not for running a plot? whatever." ---------------------------------------- Jenn sighs and nods. "Now would be a good time. Lemme test the com while you place the drone outside?" She looks about silently, hoping that she dosen't get any trouble from the rain and crappy weather. Hmming she then places the chip in her reader and ponders. "We're here, target's right here. I'de say we're rather close. Ready to drop off the spider?" Nina Reynolds nods and reaches for the door handle of the parked van and looks outside, "Is that the place up on the left with the chainlink fence around the property? I can't see the sign well from here, I think the lights illuminating the sign are burned out." Nina opens the door and leans out and rests the spider on the ground with a short 1 foot drop to the pavement outside and then leans back in and closes the door quickly, "This blasted rain will never stop." Jenn looks over and then checks the map, zooming in at the supposid location. With a nod, she thinks. "That sounds about right. I'm going to remain parked here. So you know, once i'm rigged in there isn't going to be much coming from me." With that she moves into the back of the van, taking rest on one of the lower bunkbeds in her van, hmming. "Ready?" Nina Reynolds watches Jenn move to the back of the van and lay down in one of the narrow bunkbeds along the sidewalls of the van and nods, "I'm ready.. Okay.. I'm Mist.. your Pottiemouth.. got it." she considers other items of thought and then speaks, "I'll wait until you get back with your drone recordings so we can go over the data and plan my entrance.. I'll watch over you while your jacked in." Nina Reynolds undoes her buckle and starts removing things from her duffle, backpack first and then starts putting gear into it. A fannypack which contains her electronics kit and starts gearing up. <> The neighborhood is very commercial in nature where the van is parked. Most of the business parking lots are empty and free of any vehicles or activity. If it were an industrial area the 3rd shift workers would be active around the fascilities.. but this is more a business location and the buildings are more clean and free of the soot and debris familiar with the less prestigious industrial zones. Jenn's body goes limp almost immediatly. With some skill she jumps into the saddle of her strato-9, taking control and ditching the cop she never saw. Rather none silently the machine moves about a mile or so from the compound. Setting in the coor'ds for the roto she jumps into the spider, letting it slowly crawl. <> On average.. a knight errant patrol car can be spotted on the main road, or a sideroad about every three minuts. . <> The rain pelts down on the Strato-9 rotodrone, gusts of winds from the thermals in the clouds it dips in and out of set the drone to sway left and right as the rigger controls it and gets it into place. The drone is above the glare of the city lights, but below the watchful eyes of the city airport radar. <> Jenn, please roll intelligence . Jenn rolls 6 dice: 2 3 4 4 5 8 Jenn says, "Can I also use task pool?" Nina Reynolds says, "Not on the perception roll. Task pool is only for knowledge skills, language skills and inteligence based skills like b/r rolls and demolitions and the like." <> 1 mile from the strato-9 rotodrone the facility is detected and a rough outline can be determined. There deffinately appears to be a 2 meter tall chain link fence around the fascility but the sensors aren't revealing any wire across its top. There are two large buildings within the fenced in property, one building is a two story building with many black tinted windows and the other is a four story building with a more concrete and utilitarian style look to it. The location has three parking lots around the buildings. The two story building only has two cars parked in its lot, the four story building has somewhere near twenty cars parked in its parking lot. Near the entrance driveway an apparent guard shack stands in the rain, not much more detail is yet visible from this distance. Even though the sensors are powerful the rain is annoyingly disruptive, sending streaks across the visual field when magnified to a high level. Nina Reynolds reaches over and turns off the van's lights and dims down the dashboard lights to make the vehicle appear more vacant. She reaches over and turns the keys so the engine also turns off. o 0 (No use having some curious person investigating a running abaondoned van). Jenn says, "I'll roll intel" Jenn rolls 6 dice: 1 1 1 3 5 7 Jenn mentally ponders to herself about the two vehicles. Siulently, she takes her roto, zooming in on the two vehicles in the single parkinglot. With a keen eye she looks them over, checking to see what happens. <> From this great distance, and the weather affecting the visibility to a large extent it can only be determined visually that they are in fact.. cars, and not trucks or vans. On Radar though picture quality marks the shape and structure of a ~possible~ mid-size type family car , the other car is ~possibly~ a sports car of some sort. Jenn hmms and focuses on that possible sports car. thinking, she positions her drone to another spot, trying to slowly start to configure a silouette of the qustionable vehicle. She's not concerned with the plate yet, this is only a replim study. With a mental Hmm, she continues to try to construct the outline of the mystery machine. <> Jenn-> Please roll intelligence. Jenn rolls 6 dice: 2 2 2 5 5 10 <> Bingo!! The sports car currently in Jenn's sensors is most certainly an Audi, the contours and lines of the vehicle are distinct as a 2060 Phantom Audi 290i. Jenn hmms and ponders a moment. One possible vehicle, but she still has the parkinglot. She moves in a few more feet, checking out the others, scanning quickly to see if any have the make of an Audi. <> Jenn-> Please roll intelligence. Jenn rolls 6 dice: 1 3 3 5 5 8 <> In the other parking lot there is confirmed exactly 19 other vehicles, a few trucks but mostly cars. Three of the vehicles be audi's. Jenn hmms and continues to look about the vehicle. One down, now to the other lot. Pondering, she zooms around slowly, slowly configuring a sillouette of the first of three figures. Jenn rolls 6 dice: 1 1 2 3 5 9 Jenn rolls 6 dice: 1 1 2 4 4 9 Jenn rolls 6 dice: 1 4 5 5 8 10 <> The first possible is determined to be a 2059 Porsche Winter, the second is determined to be a 2059 Corvette Stingray, the 3rd is determined to be a 2061 Phantom Audi 290i. Jenn hmms and nods to herself. She takes the Roto back towards her van, parking it a few allies away for the time being and jumps into the spider drone. First up, the crowded parking lot. Nina Reynolds rolls 5 dice against a TN 12: 2 2 2 3 5 (0 successes) <> Mystery roll not explained to keep RP curious. :-) Jenn just continues with her spidey drone towards whereever it may be she's going. <> The spider drone is waiting and willing, getting pounded in the rain, but it doesn't seem to mind in the slightest. Smaller than a boot on a sidewalk and in the shadows right now its a nearly invisible means of spying. Jenn simply continues to walk along the parkinglot, watching the terrain as she goes, small legs trotting along. Nina Reynolds rolls 5 dice against a TN 20: 2 4 5 7 11 (0 successes) <> Jenn-> Please roll perception. Jenn rolls 6 dice: 1 1 1 5 5 11 <> The chainlink fence needs to be passed somehow before access to the parking lot of the company can be accessed. With fine tuned skills and a sharp eye in how to adjust the sensor feeds Jenn is able to located a dip in the terain where a large enough gap under the fence allows the tiny little drone enough room to slip under and into the grounds beyond.... Inside the fence now a small area of grass and rolling terrain must be crossed to reach the parking lot. Ther terrain is not smooth, but offers several locations out of view from the low walking spider drone, areas where secrets and dangers might be waiting. At the parking lots edge it appears enormous. At ankle level the parking lot stretches forward for what feels like miles, and just as luck would have it its well lit and the cars are all parked close to the building, on the other side of the parking lot. An avenue of travel coule be taken to stay in the grass and walk around the parking lot to the other side.. but it will add 10 minutes to go around in this manner. Also of note-> The spider drones sensors, under the skillful use of Jenn picks up a guard walking between the two buildings, leading along a doberman on a chain leash. Both have lowered thermal signitures do to the rain cooling them down. Jenn quietly avoids the guards (she hopes) silently checking out the vehicles, looking for a location to the two Audi's, checking for the plate numbers. <> Jenn-> Please roll perception. Jenn rolls 6 dice: 1 2 5 7 7 8 <> After a solid 10 minute walk around the grassy rolling outside terrain around the left edge of the largest parking lot (where the majority of the cars are parked-4 story building) the spider drone finally reaches the other side and has a good view of the vehicles now. Now it just needs to move forward into the lit sidewalk area at the edge of the parking lot and get behind the selected audi to look at the license plate on the rear of the vehicle. Jenn attempts the walk...slowly trying to hide in the shadows of vehicles or behind tires or anything that might help. Nina Reynolds rolls 3 dice against a TN 14: 3 8 9 (0 successes) <> The spider drone slips in under the nearest vehicle and uses it and then the others in the line as cover from the rain and an opportunity to get out of the direct rain. It finally makes it to the audi and gets a view of the license plate: 34YV92. The parking lot is a smooth and newly surfaced pavement, complete with six high intensity hallogen lot lights atop six separte poles spaced around the parking lot for best coverage. The four story building is directly in front of the Audi and a concrete walkway leads up to the front doors where there appears to be a security guard just inside that has a view of the parking lot as well. Over the front door of the building there is a camera mounted and panning back and forth over the area in front of the building. The guard shack at the entrance gate is about 60 meters from the spiders current position and a dim light can be seen through the window there. The rain is coming down hard though and the weather just sucks.. so there is no positive confirmation that someone is actually inside that guard shack right now. The roaming guard with the dog is currently out of sight, perhaps on the other side of the four story building. To the right of the 4 story building is the 2 story black tinted window building where the other audi resides. The other parking lot is accessed normally by a sidewalk which connects this parking lot to the next, or by the roadway that Y's near the entrance and leads to that and this driveway. The lights inside the 2 story building appear out.. or the tinting is so strong that it can not be determined if they are on. The four story building has several lights on, narrow tall slits of frosty glass prevent any clear visual of things within though. The only clear window appears to be the entrance to the 4 story building nearest.. where the security guard can be seen pacing back and forth as if on edge for some reason. Jenn scouts about in the drone. Hmming silently it looks up at the plate, backing up. Before, she was staring at the tire treads. Needless to say the Audi stepped in doggie poo. Scanning about, it looks over at where it is and where the next building is. First thing it does, it crawls right next to the tire of the Audi, watching silently for a while, watching the pattern of the guard. It dosen't move yet, it waits simply for the guard and the dog to start walking around, checking the time it takes for it to do so, mentally counting to the highest number she can think of one number at a time. <> Jenn-> Please roll perception. Jenn rolls 6 dice: 1 2 2 4 4 5 Jenn says, "Can I do karma or do I not need it?" Nina Reynolds says, "You can if you want." Jenn rolls 6 dice: 1 3 3 3 5 5 Jenn says, "Down to 7/8 karma. Not going to use any more." Nina Reynolds rolls 5 dice against a TN 16: 3 5 9 11 13 (0 successes) Nina Reynolds rolls 3 dice against a TN 13: 1 1 5 (0 successes) <> After waiting around 15 minutes and tracking three spottings of the guard with the dog outside.. there appears to be no patern to his route of protection over the area. Currently the guard has just moved past the spider drone on the sidewalk and is walking towards the 2 story building on the sidewalk which joins the two parking lots. The dog appears alert and eager to serve its master. <> CRACK!! <> Lightning flashes and then the crack of thunder errupts. That was close! Jenn hmms and looks around. Waiting a bit longer, hoping the dog is on its way, the drone slowly starts to walk off looking for the closest point of shade. Silently, it slowly crawls, looking for a way to the next audi. Black tinted windows arn't going to help so for the moment, it's looking for any kinds of holes in the walls. <> Jenn-> Please roll perception. Jenn rolls 6 dice: 1 1 2 4 4 9 <> There are absolutely no holes in the walls what so ever. <> One of the storm drains in the corner of the parking lot appears blocked.. for a large pool of water has turned into a small lake in that corner of the parking lot. Jenn hmms and decides to head back to the audi, backtracking ever so slowly. She stops every now and then, checking out the asphault, looking for small landmarks, taking notes from position. Silently she avoids things such as guards and doggies. Looking out for the pair, it slowly starts to crawl for the audi, checking for the guards still, and looking for a quicker way of escape. "God dam, i'm so dam slow." she thinks to herself, wanting to put some nitro and turbocharge her small crawler. Log paused
