Nina Reynolds has left her apartment to head out to check magland on shadowland, interested if there have been any posts responding to her inquiry about starting a magic group. She's left her own home as advised by a decker friend that says never deck from your home and she's taken the bus system a couple blocks south to a public access phone/trid system booth outside NightOwl books. It's a short ride, but she still is displeased at what the last two+ solid weeks of rain is doing for her hair and she exits the bus with an umbrella in hand and raised to shed as much water as she can manage. Nina Reynolds steps into the public trid/phone booth, being careful to use the umbrella to block the video camera mounted in it from seeing her face as she opens the door. As she steps inside she takes her chewing gum from her mouth and squishes it over the lense of the camera and then lowers her umbrella and closes the clear plexiglass folding door behind her.. ah.. dry.. sort of. From on the Aurora, The sound of a fast racing bike comes closer quickly. After a few moments a dark blue Suzuki Aurora zooms down the street. The driver seems to ignore the weather and just is lucky enough that his bike has the newest compuglide technology installed, otherwise he would have good chances to crash sooner or later. 'Vrrooooom' the bike just passes the public trid booth as Nina steps into it. Nina Reynolds takes a few minutes to log into the matrix, watching the vidscreen before her accepting her commands and turning into a matrix interface program where she slots her own datachip in the side and uploads her icon and paramaters and then heads out to find shadowland on the trix. Nina Reynolds takes a good two minutes finding the carefully hidden node from contacts on the grid and hints here and there that the trained eye get accustomed to looking for. She sends out a small water elemental in the trix to search for node posting updates and only comes back with one . A smile comes to Nina's face as she hopes for the best and she brings up the Magland postings and the last updated file loads up on the screen for her to read. From on the Aurora, The sound of screetching tires, sliding down the wet road seems to fade as the bike slowls down and stops. Scanning the streets for a moment the driver crosses the street with his bike and slowly drives over to the booth where Nina is standing. Then the soft hum of the Aurora stops and a blond haired eurasian removes his helmet. Suzuki Aurora Racing Bike (SNAKE)s engine silences as Kobura hits the kill switch. Kobura climbs off of the Aurora. Kobura has arrived. Nina Reynolds is rivited to reading the magland post and hears the screeching tires and glances up but for a moment. o 0 (Crazy riders out in this weather) and then looks back to the post, troubled and confused, thinking the writer wants her to publicly beg him/her and offer some sort of incentive program to consider joining the magic group. She's about to push a button to clear the screen and refuse to respond to the post when in her perepherial vision she spies a figure nearing her booth.. but.. instead of pushing the button as she should, she takes the 1/2 second to look over her shoulder and therein spots Kobura as he removes his helmet... thus distracting her cuz this is the guy that scared the piss out of her last week and someone she has developed either a fear or a respect for. She's not sure which it is yet and she's debating that as she lowers her hand, forgetting and leaving the magland post on the screen for the moment. The blond haired guy who is still sitting at the Aurora grins and salutes. 'Hey there ... see, I was right ... I thought that its you ... I never forget a face when I saw it once ... ' he smiles friendly to conceal the fact that this could have been a warning as well. 'Whats the deal ?' he stands up and glances over to the glowing screen for a second, grinning some more as he finds his own Magland post over there. Slowly he tousles his hair which is getting wetter quickly and chuckles. 'Surfin the Trid ?' =================================== Magland ================================== Message: 6/3 Posted Author Re: Mist Mon Aug 19 King Cobra ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ <> Ssss ... what could I learn from otherssss ? What elssse are you able to offer ... ? <> ============================================================================== Nina Reynolds pulls open the plexiglass folding door so she can hear Kobura as he is about to speak and she offers back an insecure and unsure smile, much like someone does when their told to smile for the passing law enforcement officer while a gun is held to their back by another, she shifts her weight to her other foot, not realizing she's exposed the trid screen in the booth even further for Kobura's examination . Nina Reynolds nervously glances over her shoulder, "Oh drek." and her hand darts up and slaps down on the ESC key and the screen goes black, "Oh.. well... I guess its my lucky day.. I'm glad you weren't a cop or something." she then considers. o 0 (Maybe he really is?) and it shows in her face.. a cornered rat in the rain. The blond mans grin is gone from one second to the other 'Whats that ?' he asks 'Visiting illegal Matrix sites hm ? That doesnt look all too good for you ... ' he shakes his head slightly 'Im afraid ... for finding you, scanning the Trix for muscular men butts I have to punish you ... Im sorry, but I cant let you get away with this ... ' he steps closer 'May I ?' and tries to press the disconnect button. Nina Reynolds isn't much of a physical hinderence to the blond man and she knows it. At least this encounter is in full public view of several witnesses and in the daylight hours, thus helping her to keep from that panic mode she was in that last time she was alone with him on the street. She steps 1/2 back deeper into the small phone booth to try and keep some level of 'personal space' and the man reaches in and pushes the on the system. Now inside the booth, both of them taking up the meager room available there with the blond man mostly still outside the booth and Nina pinned inside with no escape she offers a meek smile, "I found out how to get to that ... place you told me of. I have found it has some possible benefits and was just checking in on responses to a post I made there." Now that the system is powered down she reaches over with her left hand and pulls out her ICON-datachip(tm) and then pockets it, offering a smile as she pulls her chewing gum off the vidlink camera and dropping the gum to the floor. Nina Reynolds pockets her datachip. Kobura grins and steps backwards again. He tilts his head and smiles flatly 'Yeah ... I see and obviously youre using its possibilities already ... not bad ... ' he grins and glances upwards into the grey sky. 'I guess you got a few interesting answers as well hm ?' he asks absently somehow before he looks back at her. He seems to be perfectly relaxed and doesnt seem to notice that the woman in front of him seems to be scared slightly. 'Did I mention that the punishment will be a voucher for a nice breakfast in the Tube Cafe when there is time ?' he adds. Nina Reynolds still looks a bit cornered as Kobura speaks about her making use of the matrix site.. and doesn't look at all relaxed until Kobura mentions a breakfast at the Tube Cafe. If emotions were visible it would show on Nina right now as tension is sloughed from her like rain down a tin roof to the gutters beneath, "Oh.. yes.. of course." She manages to pick her purse up off the shelf in the phonebooth and shoulder it, but she stays inside right now and out of the rain, the umbrella hanging on the shelf by its curved handle, "I'm getting some respones.. most of them email's to a dropbox a friend of mine set up for me. But one reponse was a public post that's thrown me for a bit of a loop. The person that responded seemed a touch aloof and arrogent in the response. I'm not sure how to deal with that.. for the people I'm hoping to contact I was hoping to have a good relationship with as time goes on. I don't know.. maybe I just need to give it some time before I respond.. or maybe I need to learn how to respond properly to snobs." she chuckles a bit, not realizing the author of the response she's insulting stands before her. Kobura breaks out in laughter, he shakes his head and snorts 'How to respond to snobs ?' he chuckles and wipes away a single tear 'Oh shit ... that was good ... ' he grins and rubs his nose 'Well, no stress for you I think, since you dont know that freak you can easily ignore him ... or if you need him or something he has you can still contact him, your decision ... may I ask who that drekhead was ? I mean, I know its all hush hush but Im just curious ya know ?' he grins, almond shaped brown eyes are glittering slightly. 'And the other responses are positive ... great, Im happy to hear that, this will increase the number of people you know ... and in some places you are who you know right ?' he nodnods and stays where he is, rain is falling down on his back but he seems to ignore it, as if he would be used to the hot steamy athmosphere. Nina Reynolds's hair is wet from her pervious time out-of-doors and her face lacks the vanity of makeup and other fixings that more socially concious people adhear to. When Kobura bursts out laughing for a moment Nina can be seen flinching, like when someone makes a fake jab at your face.. an unconcious response. But, once it registers as laughter Nina calms once more, she's not been the same since her scare with Kobura that past evening in the rainy dark streets of Detroit and she might not ever be again, so close to what she thought was going to be hear death. She offers an appologetic expression and explains, "I'm sorry.. I wouldn't feel right revealing that information. Everyone I've met thus far has been adiment in the importance of secrecy and I must respect that. Its a code I can truely respect for in turn I ask of them to keep my involvement to themselves. What we are about is not illigal at all in nature, but there are some things best kept from the watchful eye of the corporations, lest they feel a need to get involved in some way. The anonymoty of my new venture and the freedom of being able to stretch my abilities and knowledge outside of the company is exhillerating. I belive that in time.. networking with others is an important road to travel." The blond haired guy listens and nodnods, he even bows respectfully. 'Yes indeed ... Im impressed ... ' he smiles 'Actually youre very right to react like that ... but that was no test of mine, Im really curious thats all ... see, one of my personal mistakes ... ' he chuckles and shakes his head 'What shall I do with you hm ? Youre sweet chatting to someone like you is new to me ... youre so, well whats the word ? .. Fresh ... full of ideas, thats cool ... you can be more self confident because I see a lot of potential ... ' he smiles a bit and sighs 'And damn, the guys will stand in line to get a date with you ... ' he laughs softly 'I hope there will be time for the breakfast ... ' he checks his watch and scans the street for a moment. 'And that snob guy probably is just a poser ... ' he shrugs. -=> Kobura just looked at you. Nina Reynolds warms to the compliments, not a snotty sort of act that someone used to such words puts on out of habbit, but genuinely taking the compliments to heart with a tinge of blush at her cheaks, "I'm available for an early lunch right now if you have the time." she picks up her umbrella and looks ready to leave the booth now, "Your probably right about that guy.. he sounded all full of hot air and bragging. The serious people actually contacted me for meetings to discuss details, this guy sounded like he just wanted an excuse to brag about himself." she takes a step out near the bike and considers as the rain comes down over her, "Are you free for an hour or so then?" The blond man sighs and frowns 'Im very sorry ... I really would love to have lunch right now, but I have a meeting right now. I just saw you stepping into the booth and wanted to say hello ... Im sorry ... ' he smiles a bit 'Next time okay ? Big promise and stuff ... ' he grins, stepping out of your way and takes a seat at the wet saddle of the Aurora. 'And because I dont have time right now for you I think I will pay the breakfast next time ... ' he presses the starter button and the engine starts to hum. 'Do me a favour ... take care, and if you should get problems for some reason or if a snob is getting all too stupid ... call me if you want.' he removes a small card with a name and a phone number written on it. Long distance to (Leon, Kobura): Nina Reynolds waves from RP with Kobura.. logging.. so trying not to page much to keep log spam down. Nina Reynolds reaches out and accepts the card, glancing at it and the name. She looks pleased as punch to have a name to go with the face besides and she slips the card into her pocket, "I will.. you can count on it." The blond guy grins and puts on his helmet, still holding the small white grey card between leather gloved trigger and middle finger. Then he holds it out (just the empty side of the card is visible) and waits for Nina to take it. 'Buhbye ... ' he grins and puts down the mirrored visor, slamming in the first gear. The Auroras engine howls like a wounded wolf and the tire screetches slightly as the driver pulls the throttle but doesnt release the breaks of the front tire. Then he looses the breaks and the bike jumps forward. The front tire climbs a bit but hits the street after a few meters again and causes the driver to ram in the second gear, third, fourth, fith which forces the bike to zoom down the street like a howling dervish.
